The Desert Wave is furnished throughout with vintage modernist furniture, luxury Tibor fabrics, and Frette Italian linens. Next to a personal whiskey and amaro bar is a turntable with curated vintage records, a Sonos and vintage Bose sound system, and other entertainment right at the house. Outdoors, the house offers a two-person cedar Ofuro soaking tub, a dining terrace, views of the Santa Rosa Mountains, private gardens, and native desert landscaping by the Cactus Store of Echo Park and NYC. 

Please note that The Desert Wave is not a full-service hotel. We do not have an on-site or twenty four hour staff for assistance outside of life-threatening emergencies. The Miles C. Bates Residence was built almost seventy years ago. Certain aspects of life then were different than now. Some technologies were less convenient than we take for granted today. We have taken great care to methodically restore the house and we work diligently to maintain the house in this restored condition. Still, an historic structure like this is a product of its period and the comforts of that era. Part of the charm is stepping back in time -- but sometimes not everything works as planned. If any of these expectations may pose a potential issue during your stay, we would advise that you consider a more conventional hotel option.
